Connected Parents, Thriving Kids
8 weekly classes in Imago Parenting
Imago provides a practical way to understand what your children are trying to say to you through their behavior. We teach you how to listen to their underlying message. That will leave your children feeling good about being heard
As you become more tuned-in to your children’s underlying experience, you will be able to respond to them in a way that they can easily understand and respect.
Part of the art of listening to your children is being aware that much of our own emotional reaction is rooted in our own childhood and life experiences. This awareness will enable you to be even better at tuning-in to your child. Experiences that might have been frustrating before can now become opportunities for connection.
Our parenting program adapts the same Imago Dialogue process that lies at the heart of Imago’s world-leading program for couples and applies it to the practical situations that occur with children By reducing flare-ups and emotional outbursts, relationships become more fun, and you will have more opportunity to simply enjoy being with your children.

Systematic Training for Effective Parenting [STEP]
STEP is a course for parents and others who want their relationships with children to be more satisfying. In an atmosphere of mutual support, you learn communication skills, positive discipline techniques, and ways to build self-esteem.
Today’s parents live in an era where family structure is increasingly based on social equality. Traditional methods of raising children are no longer as effective as they were a generation ago. STEP offers parents a realistic and practical approach to meeting the challenges of raising children today. It helps them learn effective and enjoyable ways to relate to their children. It also helps them toward the goal parents want most: to raise responsible children who will grow into responsible men and women, capable of leading meaningful, happy, adult lives.
STEP can help you become a better parent. STEP participants work together in small discussion groups. Parents become actively involved in discussing common concerns and learning specific child-training ideas and skills.
The Seven STEP Sessions Consider These Topics:
- Understanding Yourself and Your Child
- Understanding Beliefs and Feelings
- Encouraging Your Child and Yourself
- Listening and Talking to Your Child
- Helping Children Cooperate
- Discipline That Makes Sense
- Choosing Your Approach
